Hi,
I've created a device of type "Server' that has several attributes such as CPUs, Memory, Disks etc. However, when I add an instance of this device to my deployment diagram I'm unable to assign any values to these attributes. I can off course provide an initial value but this is shared amongst all instance of type Server so this doesn't solve my problem.
Is this possible?
Thanks
Jonathan

Look into Run State in the EA help. That should get you going.

Hey, thanks very much for that. Problem solved.
I have to say, coming from IBM Rational, this forum is a breath of fresh air. You can post to one of the Rational forums and not get a single response despite there having been 500+ views!

For me it was much more then only this forum which made me happy I could work with EA instead of RSA/RSM :)
I promise you, once you get the hang of it you'll never want to go back to the Big Blue's bloated software.

The problem I found with the Rational stuff is that it's full of incorrectly implemented functionality, or worse still critical functionality is left out. Then you're left relying on support, which can take forever, and more often than not only confirms your worst suspicions, i.e. there is a bug. Rational seem to focus heavily on the transformation stuff so the architectural diagrams such as deployment and component fall by the wayside. I'm also not so sure whether the eclipse GEF library is up to the job
