Hi
I was recently using EA 6.5 at a client site and created some great document templates which I neglected to save for myself ( they take a while to create!!!).
I am in contact with the past client but what I need to know is whether v6.5 has a feature to allow me to get the templates "out" of EA and then if more recent versions have the ability to "import" these templates...
Cheers :D

You should be able to export the templates as reference data, and then import them into your own project. I don't think that exporting from release 6.5 and importing into a later release would cause any problems.

Thanks Roy. The thing is, I do not have EA in front of me and I am trying to communicate how to do this across a phone line to a former colleague.
There will be EA in my new location and I neglected to bring pre-defined doc templates with me. I checked at home but they must have been deleted.
Can you provide the steps required ( Or a pointer to them ) to help me help my colleague extract and send them to me?
Many thanks :)

Click on this link:

Your colleague at the customer site should also be able to get this help topic either from the link or by looking for Reference Data, Export in the product Help index.
I don't know how you have created your RTF templates, so for good measure select all the Template - RTF options to create the xml file for export. Your colleague can then send you the xml file, and you can use this topic to import it into your new EA installation:
