Title: Re-sync status w/ VC provider for *ALL* pckgs ?
Post by: tim-southerland on November 13, 2010, 02:46:46 am
On occasion EA client applications loose a connection to the version control system.  Packages show that they are check-in, when they are really checked-in to the user.

One way to fix this is by right clicking on a package and selecting "package control->re-sync status w/ VC provider"  However, this only re-synchs one package at a time.  What if you have 100 (of 1000 total) packages that need to be re-synched?   re-synching 1 by 1 would be very cumbersome.

This command used to run on all packages at once in EA 7.5. Now that we've upgraded to EA 8.0, I notice that the behaviour of this command has been changed so that it only runs on the currently-selected package. I don't know why this behaviour was changed in EA 8.0.

Is there a way to run this command on all packages at once in EA 8.0? It was very handy for the reason mentioned by the original poster.

Thanks
Adrian

This is a real pain. You can´t even select multiple packages because only »delete« and »help« works on multiple package.

And this can happen quickly a simple svn commit and you wrecked your Model.

Considering how quickly one might commit on the command line it would be best if EA would not record the status in the model at all.

The following menu option is available in EA 9.0 to re-sync status of all VC packages :

Project | Version Control | Re-synch Statuses of All Packages
