Title: EA Generated Data Dictionary?
Post by: AndyJ on December 12, 2011, 03:41:01 pm
Hi people,

I must admit that I'm struggling with this myself.

I've been asked to have a go at generating a "data dictionary" from a model in EA.

My best guess is that a list of classes, attributes and notes would be appropriate, but in some form which maximises, searchability and readability.

I'm struggling, because I see the model as the "data dictionary"...

Has anyone created an HTML report or anything similar to be a "data dictionary" extract from EA?

A way to produce a data dictionary is provided in the Data Modelling Concept to DBMS white paper which can be found at

http://community.sparxsystems.com/whitepapers/Data%20Modeling%20-%20From%20Conceptual%20Model%20to%20DBMS/data-modeling-concept-to-dbms.pdf

Have a look at the appendices
