Title: Connector Line Jumps Not Working
Post by: Jeff B. on December 24, 2011, 04:20:41 am
Although I have "Enable Connector Line Jumps" checked in the Options dialog, I can't seem to get any line jumps to appear in any of my diagrams.  I've gone through the various help topics and have tried pretty much everything I can think of. I am running the latest build of EA.

Any ideas?

What kind of connectors? Line jumps aren't available for shape scripted lines (which rules out most MDG Technologies) or for dotted or dashed lines.

Thanks that answers it (I'm using dashed lines for "Usage" references between various package components).  It would be nice if the "jumps" were supported by all line types.

Hmm. One diagram just poked into my eye. One dashed line (dependency) caused an association to build a jump. Another one didn't.

A little test showed that it is because of the order the connectors are created on a diagram. The one dependency is drawn prior to the association causing the jump the plain line. In the other case the association is first and the dashed line can not be made jumped. Definitely a bug.

(I will not report that as I don't care for jumps as I avoid crossings.)
