What are the major improvements (9.2 now) since version 7.5 and what would be a good business case to encourage upgrading?
-
Wow, there's a lot.
On thing could be the structured use case scenario's, that alone could already be enough business case.
The release notes are available on the website. Depending the way you use EA you might find other changes interesting.

Really impossible to say what's going to be important to you because you haven't said what you do with EA 7.5. Even if you did, you may find features like the structured scenarios or simulation useful enough to use them for things you haven't done in the past.
As Geert said, there are a lot of changes between those versions. For me personally, as soon as I use a new version there are features that mean I don't like using the old version. So that's happened at least 5 times since your build.

Don't get me wrong, if it were up to me we'd be at 9.2 already but some organizations don't just upgrade because there is a new version. We use it mainly for creating BPMN, Use Case, Activity and the occasional State Chart diagram.
I have never managed to get the RTF generation to generate what we would need but thats another question. What are the RTF generation improvement between those versions?
-
I would say to look in the release notes to see what has changed, but in the release notes for the build we're currently working on, changes for EA 7.5 begin on line 2,749. Even allowing for whitespace, that's about 2,500 improvements that have been made to EA since EA 7.5. That's a lot to read through!
However, I believe our sales team produce a short list of the most notable new features introduced at each major release. Somebody there should be able to help you build a business case for upgrading: http://mailto:[email protected]

Don't get your hopes up :-X

I agree with Geert - to be fair, it's improved enormously since 7.5, BUT it is still frustrating and unpredictable - although not as much as in the past.

Actually, while RTF document generation can still be a dark art, and many more improvements are needed,
a major reason IMHO to upgrade would be the RTF generation improvements.
