Title: Serena Dimension VC

Has anyone successfully used Serena Dimension VC with EA for distributed teams using local models?

I have a centralised team working with Serena Dimensions but cannot checkout to a different local .eap

Hi Andy,

I don't think your problem is related to Dimension VC.

If you want to set up EA with local repositories you have to:

•  Put packages under Version control (not the *.eap file)
•  Checkin / checkout a by VC controlled package
•  Distribute your *.eap file (you may put it also under VC, but it's not nessary)
•  Make sure that in option XML Specification 'Create placeholder missing External references..' is checked
•  Make a "Get all latest" to get the latest updates to your local *.eap file

Be aware:
- There are a lot possibilities to work with EA and or without DBMS/VC in a team.
- Often a DBMS is the easies solution to work in a team
- VC has some problems, you can handle them but it will take some time (you find a lot of discussions in this forum).
