Hi
Is there any way to export the BPMN diagrams from EA to VISIO?
Thanks

Other then copy/paste? I don't think so, unless you find some kind of xmi importer for Visio...

Few people know that VISIO has excellent support for the SVG graphics format.
Thus, you could use our SVG export Add-in (http://community.sparxsystems.com/community-resources/706-svg-diagram-export-add-in to save the diagram, and simply load the svg file in VISIO!

Hi
I was able to successfully export to VISIO.
But i encountered error when i tried to save the Sub processes or Business Process.
Say for eg. I have an Employer Management Module which has high level diagram of EMP 00...i was able to save that as SVG image.
this EMP 00 has other high level processes as EMP 10 EMP 20, so when i try to save these as SVG it gives me an error "SVG export failed. Log file generated instead".
What could be the reason for this? and how to deal with it?
Thanks

You need to report that to the add-in author.

KN,
print the diagram to PDF format (is in the File menu) and post a link to that file, if that is possible.
I will have a look at the diagram!

The add-in technically works and the latest version does produce a pretty good SVG. But, when you import into Visio, the objects are no longer nested and what should be a single nested object in an ERD has many overlays that are individual and unconnected objects making manipulation of the diagram pretty near impossible. Good effort for simple diagrams.

I once tried saving the image as emf then inserted into Visio. Then ungrouped the whole image and re-grouped the elements that should be together. Pain in the ass to do but it worked. If you are skilled in vbscript you could potentially automate it.

For anyone interested, I was able to copy from EA and paste to Visio without issue. Looks clean and fonts and such are fine. It comes in as an image.
I know this is old, but at least 15.1+ it should work fine.
