Why does EA create two different testcase elements?

When using the auto-generate external testcase feature in a use case scenario, a diagram with a usecase stereotyped as a <<testcase>> is created.

When working with a requirements diagram the toolbox has an element Test Case, which creates an activity stereotyped as a <<testcase>>.

Why the difference?

EA has for a long time had a testcase element extending a usecase.

SysML defines a testcase stereotype that extends an activity.
