Title: Export to Rational or Topcased
Post by: Thomas Mercer-Hursh on September 18, 2013, 12:16:34 pm
I have a project in which it would be *highly* desirable to be able to build models in EA and export them to Rational 8.0 or Topcased 4.3.  Merely exporting the XMI doesn't seem to have worked.

Any pointers?

I would hate to have to not use EA just because I couldn't communicate.

OMG's idea behind XMI is nice. But in practice it simply fails. So my only "advice" try different XMI formats and hope that one of them does not fail immediately. Using XSLT is probably not really an option, I guess.

If I knew what to transform, I might be able to transform it.

We have tried both XMI output options.

I tried 1.0 with exclude EA extensions and Unisys/Rose format and we seem to have something loading.  Whether it is complete and correct is yet to be determined since what I sent was a very preliminary model.

Finally, if you've got the Unisys XMI exporter for RR, you should be able to create back the EA model and compare with the original one via baseline compare. It should be identical. But I doubt it will be  :P
