I swear the shadow around elements in versions before v11 was lager and thus more visible to determine the color per status. (maybe it my eyes).
Whatever the reason, can the shadow outline be larger?
Would be nice if there was an option to set the width and location of the shadow, e.g., I would prefer to have it larger and be on the top and right side.
I think it is a great feature, but as it appears now, IMHO, it useless.

Well, maybe I'm blind, but probably its just that confussing (sic!) window they call Options (I'd call it eye cancer). The help tells it is in Tools/Options/Object/Show status colors on diagrams. My eyes are bleeding. But I can't find it.

Okay. I found it. And it was already turned on. But I don't see any shadow at all. Just a very, very narrow tiny light gray.

Now I also switched the Shadow Color in the Color Options to default and it appeared much clearer as a shadow (why was it set to some non-default???). Alas, the status color did not show up either. I'm also pretty sure I've seen that in past EA versions (probably pre V9.3 since that is the lowest I kept). The help also very vaguely talks about the shadows in the status color section.
Select the checkbox to display color coding in Requirement, Change and Issue elements.
Deselect the checkbox to display the status bands and element shadows in the standard fill and shadow colors.

I think it changed in v11. I use it extensively in my network device diagrams. I even added a few additional status and assigned a color, for example, if one of our scanning tools can discover it on the device on the network, I set the status to "Discovered" which has its own color.
The shadow outline was working fairly well in v10, but now I can barely see it and forget it if the color is light (such as yellow).

Well, I also tested this with a V9.3 and I could not see a color. I know exactly that (many years ago) when it was introduced it did work. But in contrast to you I have not really used it. I was going for a fatter color dash using shape script.

Prior to version 11 it was a thin border on the shadow.
In version 11 it uses the full shadow, but is only partially opaque. This may make some colours, in particular yellow, less obvious and some tweaking may be desired.
We did start work on an option to increase the offset applied to shadows, but it appears that work on it was deferred.

Thanks Simon.
I'm getting old, so I had to question my eyes :<)
Should I enter a feature request on the border width and transparency or should I expect it in an update release?

I would recommend sending in the request. As I said, work has been deferred and I don't know when it will be picked up.
