Looks like a good tool to use but unfortunately it seems like the announcement was a bit premature. Some technical difficulties with the website.

Honestly I never tried it and just watched the video which was out the post was placed first (half a year ago). That made me believe the product is actually available.

What does Sparx say??

Downloaded/installed the trial version of the MDG for office  and have some issues now

Firstly, I had to install an MS Runtime library to get it working
Now...

1. With EA not open, when I open a Word doc, the EA nav panes flash up

2. May be unrelated, but the VISIO importer falls over (and leaves the diagram locked out in Edit) when importing a VISIO diagram which previously worked OK and which an EA colleague (who has not got the Trial Extension) can still import fine...however...I am now updated to EA v12...1213 and he is still on v12....1210 (so could this also be a factor?)

Anyone else hit snags?

Hi GuyM,

"With EA not open, when I open a Word doc, the EA nav panes flash up"
Does this happen just when you open a word doc or when u attempt to connect to a model?

May be unrelated, but the VISIO importer falls over (and leaves the diagram locked out in Edit) when importing a VISIO diagram which previously worked OK and which an EA colleague (who has not got the Trial Extension) can still import fine...however...I am now updated to EA v12...1213 and he is still on v12....1210 (so could this also be a factor?)

Please report this bug to Sparx support: [email protected], preferably with a sample drawing.

Thanks,
Nabil

Also, in my opinion, this add-in is way too expensive.

To make EA an even more no brainer, killer tool, Sparx should make this capability core functionality.

What started as Free EA Word Importer is now Pay a Fee EA Importer?

I guess that's fair, nothing is free in that world (If You're Not Paying for It; You're the Product?).

It may be worth pinging Sparx sales to inquire if this is included with your current subscription as I don't think all the information has been updated yet.  I discovered that it's included with the Ultimate subscription and maybe for other levels as well.
