In build 3.51/600 on the collaboration diagram, if I miss out a message and add it later it would be nice to have the numbering part of that set, rather than simply the next number available on the page. So if I want it in set 1.*, but I have got to set 4.*, the new message goes into 4.* set. Or have I simply not discovered how to do this? A number of us tried but could not. I should say we are newcomers to EA.

Hi,
I absolutely agree.
We need a way to specify / change the numbering on collaboration diagrams, with the default being the way that things are done now.
At the moment if I need to add a new message in the middle of a sequence I must delete all messages after the point at which the new one is entered. Then add the new one and re-enter all the ones that I have deleted in their proper order.

I guess, in a similar vein, it would be good to see an option to copy a sequence diagram. This is most useful when creating a number of scenario variations that have similar sequence of events but different parameters/conditions.

I agree that alternative numbering scemes need to be possible. In particular, I would like to see a scheme that clearly indicates concurrency. In addition, deeper hierarchies (e.g., MM.NN.PP) should be allowed.

heffalump and Fintan,
You can organize your collaboration messages in the collaboration diagram by right clicking on a blank section of the diagram and selecting the 'Sequence Collaborations...' context menu item. This brings up a dialog box that allows you to adjust your sequencing.
darrenp_lock,
I seem to remember a posting within the past few weeks that addressed converting a sequence diagram to a collaboration...
thinking/searching...yes, here it is:
http://www.sparxsystems.com.au/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=general&action=display&num=1049225212&start=4
It is answered by Fintan saying it currently can not be done, but is being considered for a future release.
Cheers

It seems the collaboration message numbers can only have 2 leves, i.e: 1, 1.1, 1.2, etc.
Is there a way to use more nesting levels?
(i.e: 1, 1.1, 1.1.1, 1.1.2, 1.2, etc)
Thanks!
