I've had this question posted now for a while
Well, I wouldn't exactly call since Dec 17th "for a while" ...
I have posts going back weeks that no-one has replied to, possibly because there was no good answer, or no-one felt qualified to answer, or could be bothered !
My usual approach is first to read back into the forums to check whether anyone else has come up against the issue in question, also to recheck the EA docs and UML spec; maybe a Google if appropriate.
(There may be a good reason for the behaviour, which "standing back a little" would reveal. Sometimes a workaround may also become clear.)
Then to float a concise description of the problem (with descriptive Subject) on the most appropriate forum, and see if there are any takers.
Or maybe a BB IM to someone who looks like they might have a clue.
I would certainly not consider getting aereated if I didn't get an immediate reply, especially from Sparx.
And before you jump to conclusions - no, I'm not intending to patronise ;-) just stating the way I do things. Good luck with the deal, and have a good Christmas !

Hmm. Damon calls himself a loudmouth (cit. from one of his videos). He should add "furious" ;D

My friends,
I appreciate all the feedback, posiive and negative. I am flattered at you interest. However I think you misunderstand me here. As users of Sparx I do not want to create rifts. We should all support each other and you could not possibly know my motivation for doing what I did here.
This was for a specific training quote for a large global firm and I needed someone desperately to provide an answer for a quote response YESTURDAY. I simply wanted to get someone's attention and I guess I sure did!
My understanding was this is a Sparx Support forum, not a User provided Support Forum. I expect 24 Hour responses. Perhaps that is my problem: Unrealistic Expectations..So what is the guaranteed response time? As a Sparx VAR, consultant and trainer, sometimes I need fast answers
I'm not furious in the least. ;D
I am happy to talk to any of you over the phone. Call me on 917-517-4010 or at my office on 212-837-7788 so we can straighten out any misunderstandings and rather then speculate about me, lets talk! I'll explain what I am doing and what my activities are around Sparx. You do not have to guess. Just talk to me.
I was trying to get an answer here. As for being a loudmouth? ;D I'm probably guilty as charged on occassion. As .NET Leader for the NYSIA and leader of the world's largest C# Design Patterns group I have to assume a leadership role quite often.
As CEO as one of the fastest growing companies in the state of New York I have a hard time saying it has not served me well.
And for the Master's Class I was guest lecturing at Columbia University where the other students where so introverted, I was the only one who really interacted with the amazing professer (Dr. Gail Kaiser). So it was 1/2 meant to encourage others to join into our discussions. It was mostly an exageration to make a point. But how could you know that?
It's the holidays..And we'll alll be in the dirt soon enough...I'm sure you are all very good so I'm not sure why you all have so much angst here. Again feel free to call me to talk about it.
If you are a Sparx leader, and you are in my area then contact me.. We're hiring Sparx Trainers and Consultants as we have created demand as we have been spending thousands on marketing this amazing product.
Perhaps there is an easy solutuon to my question.. I still need to wade through that other post to find it. If any of you knows the answer can you provide it rather then specualte on my Psyche?
I want to bring people together, not apart around this product and company. And I do not want people to misunderstand who I am and what my company is doing. So if you choose to form incorrect assesments that is your call but I am offering to let you know me and understand that I am (from what you wrote) 100% not who who imagine. You can also email me directly on [email protected] to talk to me one on one and I will explain that myself and my company are filled with about the nicest people around.

I deleted the posts as they seemed to upset people. Also see my email above and I still encourage you all to call if you would like to learn more me myself and agillefactor.
Kind Regards,

Hi Damon,
This is primarily a user forum, Sparx employees do reguarly participate but it's not expected. Certainly this is not the place if you want a fast response from the Sparx staff. (Especially since you posted on a weekend) However, it can often be the fastest place to get help because of our wonderful users offering their support. If you need a response from us send an email to [email protected] or use the online forms.
I wouldn't say that your posts upset anyone (correct me if I'm wrong) but people seem to enjoy the discussion and interaction amongst each other.
It isn't possible to get changes in an interface/abstract class automatically propogated through to child classes. You can show the override implementation dialog again by selecting "Element" | "Override Implementation...". I hope that helps, even if it isn't the solution you were after.
Merry Christmas

Simon,
THANK YOU!!! That was exactly what I wanted to know.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Damon,
no one is upset just amused. ;D
As a Sparx VAR, consultant and trainer, sometimes I need fast answers
As a simple project manager I would consult my contracts, and not post to a user forum.
Well it's Christmas time. You got your present from Sparx.

Thomas, :)
Thank you for all your help. I appreciate it. I had no idea this was primarily a user forum and I give training to the user base of Sparx so I have a lot of respect for all of you. And I'm sure there are plenty of VARS and Consultants/Trainers as well.
I think putting your energy behind this amazing product is the right thing to do. If you are in the US we especially need to join together, not apart as providers of service. I have lost deals due to the lack of a coherent and connected support network nationally for organizations with multiple locations. In other words, I am building a database and will be calling VARS in far from New York to see if they are willing to help me out on a 'free business’ approach. I’m not even looking to make money on these efforts. If any of you would like to be considered, please contact me.
There is a standard test we require partners to take (to ensure you level of Sparx expertise is where we need it to be). I cannot imagine that anyone on this forum would not find the test very easy. We do this with other technology partners as well that we do not know as we are obsessive about quality and our name. We focus on Sparx and Agile Programming. My book (coming next year) features Sparx and how to integrate it into our Agile process. So expect plenty of questions on Agile processes (TDD, Pair Programming, Continuous Integration, Iterative Development, Statistic Means of Risk Management (part of agilefactor's process but not the usual Agile one - Know you Probability Dist. Curves and making assumptions on future events with a 'confidence interval’). Waltzing with Bears is the definitive intro to the topic.
As for Sparx know the automatic interface, all the substitution elements for code regeneration, and all of the 'surrounding' features like XML Schema work, MDG across the board, Requirements Traceability, Disconnected use and Synchronization, Use Case Metrics, Security, (we only work with the corporate edition),. Design Patterns, etc,
Bottom Line: I think you are all great! We are a fast growing community that is handing onto this rollercoaster.
I made the mistake of thinking this was a Sparx run support forum (my mistake) and I was a little panicky to give a directly line item question an answer and I knew it would be bad if I said "It cannot be done" which I did (although is a much longer and convoluted manner <grin>. It CAN be done, just not automatically.
So that is where I was coming from: sheer panic! Anyway, thanks for keeping me honest guys.
And contact me (there are others involved as well) if you would like to be part of a US Support Network. Without it I will continue to loose business, not something I want.. Or Sparx wants. It always IBM vs. Sparx where I am sitting and IBM is not exactly short on the coverage for support.
So call me if interested on 917-519-4010 or call the main office on 212-837-7788. You can contact Craig Allen at Sparx and he might have additional details about this effort.
