Title: Remove Alternate Image

After 6 months of training and mentoring people on the use and value of standards and UML and the dangers and cost of iconic (i.e. pretty picture icons) modelling I have found that I have been bashing my head against a brick wall - one of the analysts decided to "pretty" up one of our central system models and has placed Alternate Images all over the architecture and class models.

I have had to go through the database and manually delete the images.

There appears to be no way, once an alternate image is assigned, to remove it from the element (actually, the diagram-object)  other than directly editting the records in the database.

Am I right?

Hi Sargasso,

Bring up the Image Manager dialog (select element, right-click, Appearance, Select Alternate Image), select nothing then click OK.

Ha! I got it.

The Alternate Image list screen was exactlyt 1 page full.  This made it impossible to click "off" any particular image and therefore select nothing.

I was playing around with this today and ran into the problem of not being able to remove the Alternate Image. I am unable to 'select nothing', or as i interpret that phrase, unselect the selected image. If I need to do this in the tables, what table needs to be modified?

I found the table  t_diagramobjects. I'd still like to know if I'm doing something wrong when it comes to de-selecting the Alternate Image. Also, I'd like to know if there are any issues with removing the image information from the ObjectStyle column in the t_diagramobjects table directly.

I’ve also had problem removing alternate images.    For me the easiest thing to do was to delete the image and then re-add the image.
