One of the things that has bothered me about drawing tools in general and modelling tools in particular, is that many graphical objects are composed of multiple sub-objects. For example, the text objects associated with the UML connectors - the name, stereotype, multiplicities, roles, guards, constraints etc.
By default, these are drawn close to or on the line. However, they can be moved - either at the user's discretion or under automation control. Often, when moved, on a complex diagram, it isn't easy to see which text belongs to which element. :(
I think it would be a REALLY REALLY USEFUL addition to EA's user interface to have a context menu item that says: Highlight the parent of the text object I've got selected. 8)
That way, if I (or some other user) has moved the stereotype to the other side of the diagram I can select it and find out where it comes from.
By the way, before anyone tells me about "Default Position", if I'd wanted to move the "errant" object to it's default position, I would have used the menu option. I don't. :-*
While I think of it, the complementary functionality - select a line and "Highlight the child text objects" would also be cool! 8)
