Title: Move views under packages
Post by: shaft on December 06, 2005, 09:05:23 am
I am currently working on a design that is a system of systems.  In other words there is no "final system" there is only this collection of systems that when they collaborate you get the desired behavior.

Anyway, each system needs to have the several views (logical, use case, etc.).  But they way the EA is setup now, if I want these views, each system must be a root node.  And so generating my system of system documentation is a bit of a hassle.

Still doable, but just an idea.  Why can views only be under a root node.  A root node is just a package, so why can't I place views under packages.

IIRC you can create custom 'views' and place whatever packages you wish under them, so there's nothing to stop you creating a 'view' of each system and then the different conventional views within each.

But I don't have EA on this system ...
