Could someone on a release less than 781 please check / confirm this.
I use composite elements and "sub"-diagrams extensively in my models.
In 781 double clicking on a composite element opens the relevant diagram as it always did...
but,
I also extensively use the trick of adding the composite element itself to the child diagram.
Previously, I am sure that I could double click on the element in the child diagram and it would open the properties form!!!
This appears to be gone in 781 >:(
or have I done something silly.

Tried it on 778, 781 and soon-to-be-released EA 6.1 and it works correctly: I tried it with activities, use cases and classes, right-click "Set as Composite", double-click to open new child diagram, drag element onto its own child diagram, double-click and it opens Properties dialog.

Probably not. More likely that one of your (guess) several-hundred intermediate steps was significant, but can't think what it might be that you've done extra. Any ideas?

It was (actually still is) a package element. The heirachy is like this
.
.
.
<<view>> Use Case Model
|
|--- <<model>> Actors (stereotyped package)
|--- <<model>> Reservations (another...)
| |
| |--- <<Module>> Availability (this is a stereotyped package)
| | |--- Availability (use case diagram)
etc etc
In ud/ Availability, I place the package element for <<Module>> Availability. I am sure ;) that I have doubleclicked on the packages before to open them.

Bruce, I checked as far back as EA 4.10.737 and this hasn't worked with packages during that time - composite elements only. Worth a feature request: I'll generate the (electronic) paperwork.

Hi Bruce,
Please find that this has been implemented in our next build.
