:oHello, I would like to see an FTP site option enabled for registered users to download the latest build. I have had numerous problems downloading the latest build using the save as option from the browser interface. Virus scan is disabled, as is Windows Firewall.

Those of you with insomnia please feel free to read on, in the hope of a cure...
I've had no problems whatsoever. I have performed the downloads for my own as well as clients' installations of EA, in several environments, with firewalls of various forms.
Over the last (almost) couple of years I have brought down every build since 4.1 appeared. I have use Windows XP (both SP 1 and SP 2) and with and without the desktop firewall. I also use the Norton firewall and NAV at the desktop, always turned on.
FWIW I have used Firefox (1.x) throughout most of this period, although with clients I have (usually) worked with IE. I have no problems with IE, but having to disable various features when security alerts come out (most of my clients are almost as rigorous as I when it comes to security) and patches are pending, one often fails to re-enable the features later. I wonder if ActiveX or scripting or something being turned off (or down) could affect this.
My advice: try the latest production build of Firefox and see if your problems go away. If not, please report back on this.
