Title: Connector segment suppression
Post by: Paolo F Cantoni on September 29, 2006, 07:10:13 am
Any chance we could get little identifiers (say letters of the alphabet) on the little end-points of the suppressed connector segments?

You know: --[A] ... [A]--, -- ... --

If you have more than more suppressed line on the diagram it can get confusing.

I know that on screen, the related end is selected if you select the other.  However, my printer paper doesn't have this functionality...  ;D

Voting starts now...

Not as default. But nice feature.

Bary, I'm curious...  Settable on a per diagram basis, certainly...  But I would have thought that it should be on by default since even with just two connectors with suppressed segments with a large gap on a largish diagram presents the opportunity for confusion.

My vote too.

Perhaps put this on the a property page and make it 'sticky.' This way we don't have to worry about the default after the first use.

Bary, could you recommend any printers that do have this feature. People might be willing to pay a bit extra.   ;D

Thanx Ashok,

I see that now...  However, if there is no name, then it should have the letters I mentioned.  In fact, since connector names aren't unique anyway, the letters (or some other identifier) should still be present.

As I understand, still no progress in this field :-/ - correct me if I'm wrong

Paolo, could you again registertm[/color] your suggestion on suppressed segments naming with letters (and keeping them unique in diagram of course).

Consistency, SparX, consistency plz ;) - association names aren't unique

It's best if you report a separate entry...  Reference the thread...

actually, I also don't like suppressed segment end visualization - I think, (connector text at the end) surrounding box isn't needed
For me would be enough:

------(a)                   (a)--------

other oppinions?
