Hi,
I wonder if it makes sense to pre-select the element name right after creation. When I create a class it contains the name Class1 - only very seldom the name that I need. Now I have to select and retype. If it was selected already, I simply could start typing.

Great idea, but contrary to EA's UI (Unique Interface) ... ;)

Yes, certainly!
I stumbled yet again over this, and started wondering why it was not a reportable "bug" already. I almost did so for the new beta.

Now they got you. You got used to it and will no longer miss it ;D

Not really, there's no smiley on this board for "tongue very firmly in cheek!" :D
Actually, Thomas, I assume you're complaing about EA 7.0 Beta (810)(since 6.5 (806 & earlier) works as you suggest). If it doesn't for you in 806 then there's something fishy going on...
For 7.0: "It's a bug, "

You're right. I didn't check with 6.5 as I switched to 7.0.
Btw. Have you noticed the enthusiastic response to 7.0 - compared tp say 6.0?

So, who reports it?
And no, I didn't notice the enthusiastic response.

It's been fixed.
You may also be interested to know that if you disable showing the properties dialog on element creation, EA automatically selects the name on the diagram for you to update.

Nice touch!

Simon,
I just stumbled over this again. I add a component with ctrl-click and the name is NOT selected...in beta 2
