Hello,
I just introduced EA at www.idos.de. I wonder why I can import Actors (configure under Tools -> Options ... -> "Source Code Engineering" -> [Component Types]) but not Use Cases.
Wouldn't it be more ortogonal to allow all types to be imported? E.g. for Use Cases I like to have files called "*.uc", which are text files. The imported text could go to the "notes" section of the UML element.
Is there any way to add some more types to this configuration dialog?
Regards,
Angelo

Orthogonal? You mean: not having a Unique Interface?
-
Yes: Orthogonal?
Yes, I find it slightly disturbing that the UI of EA often treats some "classifiers" special and does not allow the others.
E.g. "Code Engineering -> Genereate Source Code ..." does not work on "Screens" in the "User Interface Model" section nor on Use Cases or Actors in the "Use Case Model" section.
I know for a lot of ppl this makes sence (or in other words they never would do what I want to do), however I like to use the code templates of the code generator to generate the UI from my model ... but can't ;D
Also I like to keep lots of stuff external in single files (under version controll, and edited inside eclipse) and the source code engineering sections for component types looks good for that.

That unfortunately correct and I see also no sense in that restriction. E.g. I would like to keep configuration files in Artifacts and simply dump their contents to disk - but EA refuses to let me do so >:(
I'd very much vote for removing these restrictions from EA!
