Title: XML Schema (XSD) models
Post by: Paolo F Cantoni on November 05, 2007, 11:51:24 pm
The problems described in: Database Sub-Models (http://www.sparxsystems.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=suggestions;action=display;num=1160138032)  also apply to XML Schema (XSD) models.

Packages, Namespaces & groupings (http://www.sparxsystems.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=suggestions;action=display;num=1159930170;start=0#4) has additional, related information.

Of course, and add my vote.

As you mentioned in the database citation, this theme will likely be quite common. Once you've detached the idea of grouping from that of namespaces, the utility of this approach really shines through.

I suspect - without proof, but with lots of experience to back me up - that this is the kind of thing that would not be too difficult to implement (across the board). The payoff in usability, and tractability in future extension of the product, would be enormous.
