Hello all,
We wrote this in the General Board in January, but as we are adviced to post here (Automation Interface, Add-Ins and Tools), so we are.
We released "Collaboration Addin," the new addin for Enterprise Architect.
http://www.sparxsystems.jp/en/collab/
This Add-In is for enhancing the usability of editing the same project file (or a DBMS server repository) by multiple users at the same time.
The installer, downloadable from the web page, runs as a 30-day trial version.
Please try.

This should be a standard feature / capability in EA.

In the early days when I held the corporate licence, it was a great headache managing the many add-ins, versions, upgrades, issues and even licences. For example, I don't know what the future of the Zachman framework is. The current version does not support the current framework. Users want to invest in technologies (including Add-Ins) with a future. I believe this is one of Gartner's criteria for evaluating EA CASE tools.
Getting the Ultimate licence was an interim solution for me (I didn't have to manage multiple licences for each Add-In) and I think that the integration of some Add-Ins (which are not driven by specific communities of practice, example OMG UPDM) into the core EA should be considered by Sparxsystems.
Features like the Collaboration Add-In is what people pay the annual support fees for and not the removal of software bugs.

... not the removal of software bugs.
It's obvious that Sparx does not spend (much???) money in correction of software bugs. Why else do I have open issues over many years? So you should not complain at all.

Problem with costs of bugs management is that it eats away at investments for innovation. Over the years, it has stiffled the growth of some other mono-product CASE tool vendors but we want Sparxsystem alive and innovating into the future.

First of all, SparxSystems Japan and SparxSystems are the different companies.
This should be a standard feature / capability in EA.
The function like this Collaboration Addin might be the standard feature / capability of EA.
But the current EA doesn't have this function, and it needs a server to work out this kind of function.
And unfortunately, until so far, it seems that this function is not essential for many of the users.
At this point, we got only 20 access to Collaboration Addin web page, and the actual download was made by two users only.
If many users do not need this function, wouldn't it be enough to have this function as an Addin?
Though not so frequently as RaQuest, but we are working on the bug fix and function addition to Collaboration Addin.

I actually do consider to download and try the plugin (and I'm fine that it's a add-on, not a core feature ;) ).
One technical questions regarding the network protocol: Is single/simple TCP/IP port use, can the protocal easiely be tunneled using SSH or other VPN solutions?

Yes, as you said, the network protocol is simple TCP/IP.
So it is easily tunneled by SSH or VPN solutions.
