Dear all,
I have developed a data model and I would like to connect to an Access database via ODBC and generate the database tables directly.
I would like to do incremental updates/changes to the database directly from the model (must be kept in synch).
In release 834 of EA, support for Access 2007 is claimed. I am not sure if above feature as described is covered.
I can achieve this objective in Erwin but unfortunately, Erwin (3.5) does not read XMI.
kind regards

The support for Access 2007 was as an EA repository.

A few application prototypes are built on Access databases.
I struggle to understand the role of EA in a prototyping development process or put simply, what is the point of capturing application requirements, designing data structures and then finally have to manually create the database schema in Access. For a start, traceability goes through the window and the reuse of analyses artefacts is zero.
I think EA will add most value to a prototyping processes utilising Access by integrating (via ODBC ) for forward engineering.
Software products like WebRatio (www.webratio.com) and many more in the market suggests that Sparxsystems provide a capability that is almost dated but sorely missed.
Product management at Sparxsystems need to match the current profile of EA to that of these applications for better insight on end-user requirements.
kind regards
