Title: Inserting page break by RTF generator
Post by: suki on August 27, 2009, 01:50:30 am
I am using a Virtual Document definition for RTF output generation. It means I have one "master document" with specific template and many "model documents" with differents template. I have only one problem: The RTF generator inserting always "page break" between templates (make it automatically).

Is any way how to restrict inserting "page break" when changing the template?

I tried to set last paragraph in each template with option "Keep with next" but it didn't work.
Maybe I did something badly.

Many thanks.

On builds earlier than ~ 834 there was a page break between Model Documents - this has been removed in recent builds.

Many thanks. It works.
But newer version has unfortunately other ailment.
At least I know that page break is not possible set up in the template but it is hard coded in the RTF generator.

Build 848 got released early to address some serious problems with RTF documents. You might want to check that you've got this build (or at least not 847).

Thank you for support. I downloaded last build (848).
Seems to be ok.

That's good news.

Watch your results carefully though. I know Sparx pushed hard to get Build 848 out the door. It might not have all the kinks ironed out due to the very short time they had to work on it. And there might be other related issues, or even side effects, that did not come to light before the build was released.

If you do see more issues, please post back to the forum to let the rest of us know. You should probably create a new thread for each. And don't forget to send a bug report to Sparx as well. It is a good idea to paste in the URL of the forum thread for each bug report. That lets Sparx monitor and participate in any subsequent discussion.

What was the solution or workaround to avoid inserting page breaks when the template changes for every model document?

If I understood good then page break was hard coded in RTF generator till ver. 7.1.833. It means if you are using this version or any older then don't exist any workaround.
Newer versions of EA (from version 7.1.834) was already not to insert a page break in RTF document during generation.

You need install newer version of EA. That's all. I tried it and it works good.
