Title: EXEC_SCRIPT function in Transform Templates
Post by: Paolo F Cantoni on December 17, 2009, 06:13:53 pm
As I understand it, one can use the EXEC_ADD_IN() function in Code and Transformation templates to provide additional functionality.

Some customers balk at the idea of having to write a custom Add-in.  But are amenable to the execution of visible scripts - which are, themselves, resources within the repository.

I think it would be REALLY USEFUL to have an EXEC_SCRIPT macro that would execute a script as part of the armoury.

Before I submit a feature request, I thought I'd gauge support for it and collect any additional comments.

Thoughts?  Votes?

Hi Paolo,

This gets my two thumbs up (if I would have more, those also)!
Would be a useful feature in Code Generation Templates too.

Just want to say that it is certainly useful, and has in fact been raised as a possibility internally.  But please do send in a feature request.

Done

(Although I accidentally used the Priority Support Request)
