Could you increase login/username length from 32 to 64 characters?
We would like to have e-mail as logins and several of our users have 40+ characters e-mails
-
and this is related to the forum, EA's website, Sparx EA, or ...
-
Sorry, I meant Sparx EA - currently the logins are 32 characters.
-
I guessed that ::)
Sparx is quite reluctant with such changes. So chances are low.... Anyway, if I were a user that had to log on with a 40+ mail address I'd start cursing each time I had to use the system. Why don't you use the integrated Windoze authorization?

Why ?
EA remembers user login - you just click OK - no need to enter it every time.

Users are from 3 different companies - all they got in common is PostgreSQL EA database.
We do have shared Linux OpenLDAP (used for sftp, svn, web etc.) - login is by e-mail
and the easiest for us would be just connect EA to it.

You might try the following: change the t_secuser.userlogin to take 64 chars. I have no idea if EA will do any internal truncation. But it's worth a try. Just create a user with more than 32 chars and see whether you can log on and whether you can modify that user.
Don't try that with your production server. Use a test schema!

We've already done it some time ago - the change is now on our production server.
But it would be much safer for us if it were officially 64.

You should send the request officially to Sparx (use the link bottom right of this page). Probably if it more or less works without much effort they might consider to make it an official change. Cross fingers...
