Title: Simple way to move elements in project browser
Post by: kristina on April 08, 2014, 05:24:36 pm
I imported a long list of elements. EA chose a sorting order I did not like (each element's name started with a number, and 100_xx was sorted before 9_xx, etc).
I cannot find any way to move several elements up or down at once, or to move one element several steps up or down in the project browser. I have to move each element by clicking the up or down arrow one step at a time. Many clicks = my arm is hurting.
Suggestion: implement a drag-and-drop function. Make it possible to move several elements with one click or one drag-and-drop.
Or maybe there is another solution I have not found...
Regards /Kristina

What a great idea,
see re-order selected objects  (2010) (http://www.sparxsystems.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?num=1263817546/0#0)

We have learnt that the only way to achieve enhancements is to:
1) submit a feature request (http://www.sparxsystems.com/support/feature_request.html)for this, and get all your friends to submit the same request (size matters)
2) ask all the companies who provide you with professional training to submit a feature request, their opinion matters much more than ours

Thanks, skiwi
We can just keep trying...
One of the links you posted helped me a little regarding another problem - how to update several objects at once. Not the answer I wanted - since there seems to be no straightforward way, but at least it saves me googling time - now I know what options I have.

That's very funny skiwi, at the same time as being true as well !  I would add "and your friends' friends too" !

There should be a list of submitted feature requests with voting by community members like many other sites have. Otherwise there are a million feature requests and no idea of what is really important to the users.

Truly, and "the horses they rode in on too!"

We need all the help we can get.
