Is it possible to customize the Start Page?
I am thinking about having company specific set-up, e.g. with references to different base models, depending on the task at hand.

You can not modify Sparx' start page. But you can define a own diagram to be the default where you can place all that company stuff. Just create the diagram and choose Diagram/Advanced/Model Default.

Yes, I found that solution after I wrote this post, but then I hit another EA-thing - Apparently one cannot execute EA-scripts via hyperlinks or anything else that can go on a standard diagram ???
Thanks for responding though :)

Hmm. I think this is worth a feature request. The EA Command has tons of options but obviously none to execute a script.

It's quite surprising to me that executing own scripts wasn't the first thing they implemented...
It's like every time I try to make anything to ease my customers needs, I get hit by one or another EA-shortcoming... It's getting more and more frustrating. >:(
I wish that Sparx would read Thomas Kilians E-books on EA, and just start fixing the issues he mention. Thomas could actually just post a bug-report and attach his e-books ::)
Sorry for whining - it's not your fault :)
I'll post a feature request...
Thanks

For your "amusement": https://www.assembla.com/spaces/enterprise-architect/tickets (https://www.assembla.com/spaces/enterprise-architect/tickets)
I stopped adding bugs a couple of years ago once I recognized that the time of over-night fixing was gone (forever?).

Hmm, some of these (very valid tickets) are several years old - It really appears that Sparx just don't care...
-
Some of them might be fixed. Well, IDC. But looking at skiwi's recurrent "Not in Version x" this is probably the truth. Although, to be fair, I recently read a post by Geert claiming that a couple of fixes had been introduced. Always hope for the best. But expect the worst.

It's not that they don't care. It's that this ticket system wasn't set up by them and it's not an official channel into their support or feature request systems. The complete absence of any links to Assembla from this site should be ample proof of that assertion.
I just posted my thoughts on this more general topic on the "general" board. Please have a look and contribute.

Those were ALL reported to Sparx. It must be in their ticket system (the copied mails should prove that). This is just a private shadow list of one that I don't have insight (probably for good reasons since it would show clearly they don't care). Well, to say I'm disappointed about Sparx bug policy is more than an euphemism.

P.S. As mentioned recently by someone else, if a company reaches a certain level they are more after presenting new features to get new customers rather than fixing known bugs for the ones that already have paid.

DUH!!! - Qwerty = Thomas Kilian ;D
Well, apparently I'm not the brightest bulb on the porch ::)

Well, once I had my real name here. But then my blockhead ran into some issues with the forum which is why I did quit and some time later re-started as q.
