Title: Text protection error.

I already saw this was posted about 13 years ago, but still not fixed afaik. I am not sure whether this is a bug or something I am doing wrong, but I cannot delete text from a template. I receive the "This selection contains protected text." notification. Any ideas?

That's not a bug. For removing that kind of text, uncheck that section from the Sections window.

Thanks for that, but doesn't answer my question. a) if I untick this section it removes the diagram> <diagram section up the document. What I tried to do it to create a placeholder for diagrams myself, without using the auto-placement by using sections. Now I have a state of diagrams places on one page and a "diagram>" holder in another, without me being able to delete the latter. An image may be clearer.

I figured it out - the style was SSTemplateField and apparently that cannot be deleted. I changed it to Default Paragraph Font and it was no longer protected. Thanks for the reply and I hope this solution helps others.
