The forum moderator should set the spam filters to be more strict! There seems to be a lot of garbage now!
-
Try to find the previous complaints about that. They don't care.

something like this?

Well, the average posts per day is 90% Spam and 10% user content. They delete it over night. But right now it's quite an effort to find a real contribution in all that spam. If you think that's "taking care", lucky you. I'm looking in this forum all day. And there's more and more spam. If (and that's for sure) it's going on we end up with only spam and nothing else because you don't find any user contribution. Rome died in decadence, you remember?

What about adding a Captcha for every post? Or are these spam messages actually entered by humans?
-
It's probably some AI that got past Google's captcha (which is nowadays probably no longer that difficult - haha). However, Sparx just doesn't care. You also don't see any agora in Greece because too many people used to urinate in darker places so the philosophers kept out. Will happen here too. Remember the Hitchhiker? That planet which died out because the evacuated the phone disinfectants?
q.
P.S. "haha" because Google offers AI services that can beat their own AI based captcha.

We do care about the problem with spam on this forum. Personally I'd describe it as upsetting, enough so that I have removed spam in my own time. I'm not the only one who has done that either.
The security settings are about as high as the base forum software can go. A reCAPTCHA prompt is configured for sign-up and first few posts, which means every spam message passes it twice.
-
what about an automaton that deletes spam after it has entered the forum? At least me - I can see the spam and avoid clicking to it. An automaton could do the same.
Or what about a volunteer experimenting with AI to find and remove entered spam?
If you simpley have no idea what to do about it, it will kill this forum.

"Houston, we have a problem."
"Hey guys. Cool down. We are working on it. We just haven't decided whether to paint it blue or green!"

I personally don't like Googles captcha - it requests to know enough stuff about the shown culture/ landscape/ society which means in general the US. Otherwise you are lost.
Mainly I don't like it is because it solves and trainees Googles AI and it bugs me sometimes with 5 to 10 captchas (all solved correct) - and if I would be more or less blind, I would not proceed any step further.
-
Same here (I really got pissed by this captcha more than once). Plus (quite obviously) it has been hacked by (probably) another (Google) AI.

No spam today ???
Did they fix the spamfilter?

Alternatively: did Google fix their captcha?
q.

No. The registration process now requires authorization.

Nice :)
Thanks Eve.

You're welcome. Although the only thing I did was tell you about it.

(Ohw wow this is really THE FIRST post I can do WITHOUT captcha !! :D :D :D :D)
I wanted to reply to this, because we lately stumbled upon https://cleantalk.org
We have been using this for about half a year now. This is really THE BEST spam-blocker ever! Because it depends on live information from the community and gets updated all the time.
The costs are really low, and maybe a big forum like this can get an even better deal.
Captcha is not working well enough anymore. Because these spambots are getting better and better.
And the captcha here is really annoying!
