Title: Using DB repository - how to find my recent diagrams?
Post by: anton.chertok on March 18, 2019, 05:08:19 pm
Hi, had a search of the forum, but didn't find anything useful.

MS Word will show me my last 10 documents (recent history) so I can directly open one.  Is there a similar function in Sparx EA?

We have a complex model in the DB with lots of projects, and it is maddening to find a diagram I have been recently working on sometimes.  There is a search recent diagrams in the Start->Explore->Search dropdown, but it shows recently modified diagrams from ALL users (we have 50+ users). I just want to see diagrams I have recently worked on (I forget the names of the diagrams sometimes  :-[...)

No, there isn't. I recently wrote an add-in to do exactly that. Wasn't very difficult after all :-)

Copy the Search and make it more selective to look only where you are the Author.

Not exactly the same thing, but close.

If you open the view My Working Sets you can right click and choose
- Store Main Tab View History
Then you can select that working set and choose
- Apply when model opens

This will open all the diagrams you had open in your previous EA session with this model.

Very useful if you want to pick up where you left.

If you don't like this you can also write an SQL search that orders diagrams on their modifiedDate

EA shows you that last 10 (or so) models you've opened. That's the equivalent function.

Word doesn't show you the last 10 pages within a document that you've edited, that's closer to what you're asking for.

I would have suggested the same thing as Geert if he hadn't.

I found something like what I want:
Portals -> Revisit -> Recent Diagrams

Its actually exactly what I wanted.

In Sparx 15, in Portals was place where I can see "last open by me diagrams" ( no "modyficated")
But in 15.2.1554 I can't see it
- does any know where it is? Or how it's name now

It's under the Start > Desktop > Design ribbon option, then select the Focus option and the Revisit tab.

One could think of this being funny: where is my menu? Somehow I lost that part of my humor.
