Title: It's time for Diagram Tagged Values
Post by: Paolo F Cantoni on April 17, 2019, 05:17:33 pm
After more than a decade of waiting, it's time to ask again for Diagrams to have tagged values.  We have so many properties that need to be attached to diagrams to allow us to automate the management of diagrams in an enterprise way that we REALLY need them.

For many Use Cases, we have been able to use a title block (Diagram Note Element) as a proxy for the diagram, but that is posing problems for us as we start to use Diagram Frames in a serious way.  (You can't hide the Title Block - so it appears on the frame!  This is anathema!)

Diagram Tagged Values also potentially have a place in User Specific Diagram Properties as Conditional Tagged Values? (https://www.sparxsystems.com/forums/smf/index.php/topic,38254.msg238155.html#msg238155)

Thoughts?

Just recall that the term "tagged values" is just obsolete. They are stereotype properties. And since you can stereotype a diagram one should have the according stereotype properties as well.

Yes, I knew, but you need to balance familiar terms with normative terms...  I came down on the side of familiar.

But your point just reinforces the issue.
