Title: How to add part/port to a class-lifeline in a sequence diagram
Post by: flexjoly on June 25, 2019, 08:38:15 am
Hi,

According to this guide: https://sparxsystems.com/enterprise_architect_user_guide/14.0/model_domains/inline_sequence_elements.html

it should be possible to add parts and ports etc.
But when going to the feature-window. No part/ports or interactionpoints exists and I cannot find a way to add one.

Sometimes I can add a port, but I would like to add some parts. Or even better show a method as a part. (maybe that is not the best uml)

How can you add a part to a lifeline?

What you should do is add any parts and ports to the classifier on another diagram. You'll then be able to add them to the lifeline on an interaction diagram.

Hi,

ok, so far I only see 'port' available for a class-element.

Maybe it is not how it should be done.

If you only see Port that suggests you are looking at the Class element's context menu. Instead, use the diagram toolbox and drag either a Part or Property element (in this context they're the same thing) from the toolbox onto the Class element.
