I am trying to import an EA package into Rose 2003. I downloaded and installed the XMI add in for Rose (UML 1.3 XMI Add-In). I am not being able though to import the class diagrams. I create simple class diagrams in EA but it fails.
has anyone succesfully imported from EA into Rose?
Thanks,

Yes, with cca. 75% success rate. Some objects supported by EA do not exist in Rational Rose. Rational Rose's XMI file is not completely standard (a bit of understatement here) so relatively successful conversion requires a lot of tweaking. If you need help, let me know.

P.S. We are building a tool to automate the EA - Rose conversion. Once it is usable, I will make it available here.

When the tool to be finished?
It will be include in EA version 4?
Thanks

No, the tool is not part of the EA. It interfaces with the EA repository though.
We have a version of the tool ready, it converts only the objects we have required in our recent projects. New version will be ready shortly, I will let you know!

Hi Bruno,
Does your tool support Rose to EA, and EA to Rose migrations.
Cheers Graeme.

Yes, it does.
We should be able to release first public version on Monday March-8.
What types of diagrams do you need to convert?
