Hi,
When I do Transfer ->Export Complete Project from a .eapx format project import it in another .eapx format project it works fine. If I export from a MSSQL database and try to import it in a .eapx format project I get a information message that says: "Directory does not contain valid Projected releated Native XML Files".
My questions:
1) Is it possible/recommended to use "Transfer ->Export Complete Project" for backup purposes?
2) Is it possible to export from one format and import into another?
3) How can I fix this problem?
Thanks in advance!

Ciao Luigi!
1) Yes
2) yes
3) Tell us EXACTLY what you are doing, step by step. I think I know what you are doing wrong, but without you telling us what you ARE doing, we can't be sure.
It's late at night for me (and I'm off to bed), but if you list what you are doing, others will be able to help.

Ciao Paolo,
Situation:
I have an existing EA project running on MS SQL Server 2008R2 which must be backed up.
EA version is 15.2.1559
Steps:
1. I Open EA and create new .eapx project.
2. I close the .eapx project and open the project running on MS SQL Server.
3. I go to Configure->Transfer->Native XML->Export Complete Project.
4. I chose a empty directory as destination.
5. I click export.
This seems to work fine and the destionation folder gets a bunch of xml files 48 in total.
5. I close the MS SQL Server project and reopen the the .eapx project.
6. I go to Configure->Transfer->Native XML->Import Project from Native XML and select the "destination" directory from point 4
7. I get a message in the Project Import Window that says: "* Directory does not contain valid Project related Native XML Files"
Kind regards,
Luigi

Why don't you use Project Transfer instead? The XML-way takes much longer. Besides it does not tranfer reference data.

Because I didn't know that :-[ I will use the project transfer from now on ;D
Is there still a way to restore the xml backup?

Usually yes. I had issues with the native XML, but in general it should work. It looks like you try to point to a folder. But IIRC the XMI import only takes XMI files. Not so sure about that native version since as said I banished it from use.
