When I drag the "Diagram Notes" element on to my diagram or select in the my diagram properties to show the diagram details it will show various properties like Name, Author and Version. But ironically neither option shows the text that I have added for the diagram element notes. So how do I show those?

I thought I had an awful hack to do that but it did not work. So that answer is (I guess): you can't.

Sounds like I should post this as a Sparx improvement opportunity. Very surprising that it doesn't include the actual diagram notes.

Hi Ron, are you sure you're talking about the same thing? The "Diagram Note Element" is best thought of as the "Title Block" of a real-life drawing. It is a separate item from the diagram itself. The notes attached to the diagram itself (your "Diagram Notes") are usually displayed by dragging a normal Note Element and linking it to the Diagram Notes property via the context menu.
AFAIK, you CAN'T add any notes to the actual Diagram Notes Element via the EAUI.

- Add a Note to the diagram
- Right Click on the note, select Advanced > Link to Diagram Note
- Save the diagram
- Reload the diagram1
1 My memory says that it used to just work, but I only get the note showing updated contents after reload.

(my emphasis)
Your memory isn't failing you. It stopped real-time updating at about v13 when a number of real-time synchronisations broke.

I was thinking about the note link with Attach to Element Feature (the hacky way). I was not aware of that direct way.
