Title: Differences in profiling between EA ver 14 and 16
Post by: fpeszke on November 14, 2022, 06:45:40 pm
Hello,

We have recently updated the version of our Enterprise Architect client from 14.0.1.1423.19 to 16.0.1605.21. Due to differences in features between these 2 versions, we have encountered such an issue - the user wants to choose "<none>" profile for all the perspectives. However, he is unable to choose accurate stereotypes for ACTION activity. Is there an alternative for that or is rolling back to the older version the only way to allow him to set "<none>" as profile?

In Stereotypes, when "All Perspectives" are set, the profiles he can choose are AUTOSAR Behavior, SPEM and UMM2.

Cheers,
fpeszke

Are you sure you didn't create a perspective set that restricts the use of "<none>"?
Can you try with an empty new model to make sure?

Hello,

That's kind of odd, as only one user appears to be affected. Others are able to access <none> profile. I have verified his Personal Sets and it appears to be empty, with no restrictions applied. Still, he is unable to add activities with <none> profile.

Kind regards,

A profile name will only appear if there's a stereotype in the profile in the current perspective that extends the given metaclass. For <none> to appear there must be a stereotype in ribbon > Settings > UML Types, and current perspective needs to be "All Perspectives".
