Title: Element shadows Off, how?
Post by: José Farinha on February 16, 2023, 06:05:48 am
Anybody knows if there is a way to switch off the shadows behind classes with EA 16.1?

I could swear I've done that before using Preferences. Now, all I can find is a check box in
Preferences -> Diagram -> Themes -> Applied styles,
which I already unmark, but shadows are still there.
I've considered setting the shadow colour to white, but would like to do it the proper way.

Thanks for your attention.

It could be the diagram properties of the specific diagram you are watching have overruled your global settings.

You are right. I have just tested it in version 16.1 and even if I uncheck, the shadows are still present.

I suggest you report it as a bug.

This is still a bug in that turning off shadows in global or diagram preferences doesn't work, however, if you draw a custom shape with shapescript including noshadows=true; there will be no shadows.

It seems that everyone in this thread use the wrong setting.
The shadow on/off is Diagram | Appearance | Element Shadow ON in the Preference dialog.

The mentioned setting is for your own theme.

This is not a bug, the above correct setting works perfectly, both on the older versions and latest.
