Title: Collapse/fold/hide lifelines in a sequence diagram
Post by: AFernandez on May 03, 2023, 02:09:43 am
Hello All,

I am in the need to be able to collapse or fold some lifelines and their messages from a sequence diagram so I can have better discussions with a stakeholder that do not care on the hidden lifelines. Kind of when you collapse rows or columns in excel. I am pretty sure this function exists in EA since I remember using it a few years back, but now I just cannot find it. Does it ring any bell to you?

Thanks!

Never heard of anything like that I'm afraid.

I'd guess you are hallucinating. Make it so you can scroll vertically to show certain parts. Or even better: create individual SDs for each audience.

You cannot collapse in Sequence Diagram.
Highly suggest to do what qwerty is saying to create individual ones per audience.

Hello all, thanks for the response, fyi.. the best that I have been able to do on this regard is to use "Layers" i.e. create more than one  and then "add" lifelines of interest to each layer. when  you check-box unselect the layers, the lifelines and messages just disappear from the view. Spacing is not re-arranged though.
thanks.
