Title: XMI Export fails with "Encountered an improper argument"
Post by: Milan on June 20, 2023, 01:42:22 am
Hi,

I encountered an issue with the XMI export in version 16.0.1604 of EA. Whenever I try to export a package of the model I am working on to XMI it fails with the message "Encountered an improper argument". This will hang the EA and I need to restart via task manager. It does not matter which version of XMI I choose nor does it matter what features I select. Additionally, no log file seems to be created even though I selected the option.

This behavior seems to be model dependent. In some other models I am working on it does work as expected. Unfortunately I have no idea what to look for in order to isolate the problem.

Do you have any hints on how to narrow the problem down? Or is this a know issue with version 16.0.1604? Please help.

Best regards, Milan

Hi Milan

Have you tried to run an integrity check on the models in question? (Integrity -> Project Integrity). Remember to check all boxes before running it.

Hi Henrik,

done that. Result is: No problems found. But it was worth a try. Didn't know this one yet.

Since it's V16: report a bug.

As he says. So far EA 16.x have not been the best release from Sparx.

It was worth a shot, though. It has helped me when I had strange issues.

Assuming that you are using Publish>Export>Export with Full Round trip>XMI Format, this is not an issue in version 16.1.1621. I have successfully exported the Example Model to an XMI file.
