If there won't come any reasonably useable V17 this year, I'll definitely retire here. My pension will start next year anyway.

We don't usually get any information about roadmaps or plannings, but my gut (and historic patterns) tells me that they are indeed working on the next major release.
My guess would be that this will be released between now and 6 months.

The information about version 17 being the next release was mentioned in Tom's session at the last Sparx Global Summit.
