Title: Import JSON API description
Post by: skiwi on August 28, 2024, 01:10:18 pm
I wish to import a API description in JSON (EA 16.1) .

Its seems in theory I could do this with the Schema Composer or REST API 2.0 add-in for Sparx Enterprise Architect - Sparx North America (sparxsystems.us) (https://sparxsystems.us/resources/restapi/)

When I install and enable the REST MSG it does not appear (e.g. RMB > specialise  on a package or diagram.

The Develop > Schema Composer > The Schema Importer | Enterprise Architect User Guide (sparxsystems.com) (https://sparxsystems.com/enterprise_architect_user_guide/16.1/modeling_domains/schemaimporter.html) does not include JSON in the types it allows to be opened!
(JSON is mentioned at The Schema Composer | Enterprise Architect User Guide (sparxsystems.com) (https://sparxsystems.com/enterprise_architect_user_guide/16.1/modeling_domains/schema_composer.html))

Am I dreaming or what?

From memory the schema composer supports generating a JSON schema, but not importing one.

I have no visibility on the REST API add-in. Even though it's published by a sister company it's still a third party add-in. If I was to guess, I would say that it probably hasn't been updated with 64 bit support.
