Title: BABOK vs SysML
Post by: [email protected] on November 12, 2024, 02:50:48 pm
I am having problems defining operations for an 'Agent' element. The interface offers 'Attributes' under the Features menu, but not parts, properties, or operations. I notice that when I look at the properties, it has a 'BABOK' tab, which I have deleted, and that made it go away, but I have the sense that the block was created improperly (possibly before I had set the Sysml profile).

I have used this element in many diagrams, and would prefer to not have to recreate them. Is there a way to convert an object originally created under one framework (BABOK) to another (SYSML)? I have searched the menus and documentation, and haven't found the key, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
My advice is to create a new model in SysML so elements are properly created in EA, bearing in mind SysML involves a specific EA built-in behaviour to keep blocks and parts consistent.
Converting a BA framework to a system engineering modelling language is "feasible" with a custom script, yet I don't believe the efforts are worthwhile compared with the time to define a new model.
