Hi,
A client with a small team of users cannot set up a shared DB as this stage so we identified the option to put a QEA file on a network drive.
EA 16 or 17 64 bits will be used and I'm interested in some feedback about this mode:
- Is it still valid to say that it works ok for up to 5 concurrent users ?
- Sparx EA user guide mentions System crashes on EAPX files ; do QEA SQLite files operate ok in case of a machine or network issue ?
- Does the EA security with permissions and locks operate fine like with a proper DB ?
Anything else I should be aware ?
Thanks

- User locking/security should work exactly the same.
- Make sure you have a proper backup of the file.
- Use a "real" shared drive, and not some OneDrive or Sharepoint stuff
- Check SQLite documentation about limitation and risks

Hi Geert,
Thank you for your feedback.
SQLite documentation goes against sharing a file over the network as it warns against performance and reliability/data corruption risks: https://www.sqlite.org/useovernet.html (https://www.sqlite.org/useovernet.html)
I wonder if there's any recommendation from Sparx on sharing a QEA file over a network drive.
If anyone has tried this setup, please let me know.
I will run some tests locally in the meantime.
