Title: Question about the Excel Import
Post by: EAButNotForGames on June 24, 2025, 06:19:53 pm
So I am playing around with the Microsoft Office Add-In
Especially with the Excel Im-/Export
If you export, lets say requirements.
Is there a way to import those, so they replace the existing ones, while keeping their traceability.

I am asking, because I somehow managed it a couple of times.
But I can't reproduce it anymore.

Hi,
Yes you can.
As long as you start with exporting them from EA.
Check the first column ( after un-hiding it). It should contain the GIUD, and therefore any import from this Excel will import the changes made in this Excel.
Adding requirements is trickier.
There is a check-box somewhere in the export process, that asks if you want to synchronize, but as far as I remember, it isn't really necessary, as long as you have the GUID.
Sincerely,
Shimon

Ah, thanks!
I didn't see that hidden column.
Works perfectly!
