Title: Multiple links to the same element in one diagram
Post by: Martin Bisko on April 16, 2014, 12:17:53 am
I'm sorry if this question was already answered.
I'm creating activity diagrams and need to have multiple times the same element in one diagram. I need to paste the elements as links not as new elements because I need to be able to change for example the name of an element and want to have it changed in all links to the element. I want to avoid changing the name of tens of elements. Do you have any idea how to solve it?

Thanx, Martin

You can't. There is no way to have a link of an element more than once on a diagram. A possible work around is to create a 2nd diagram and drag that onto the first. Usually you're doing something wrong if you need the same element twice.

consider call behaviour actions in activity diagrams. You might be interested to read the blog http://bellekens.com/2012/12/09/uml-best-practice-there-are-no-activities-on-an-activity-diagram/
