Hi all
I am having a problem removing a quick linker from my MDG, so am wondering if anyone else has struck this problem and if so, how to fix it.
I decided to remove one of the entries from my quick linker file.
I rebuilt my MDG and when I fired it back up, I expected the option to no longer be available when the user drags the quick linker away from the element in question.
Unfortunately, it is still there :o
Has anyone struck this and if so, any words of wisdom on how to fix it?
Thanks in advance
Jays :)

I'm sure you checked - but doesn't the quicklinker have two entries for each element - source and target, depending upon context when linking - did you remove both entries ?
-
Hey there, nope it doesn't.
I did a search for the name of the connector type and it comes up blank also.
Cheers :)
-
With search you mean "search in XML/MDG"?

Hey Q
I've searched in both the linked document and the resulting profile, both with no success.
Cheers :)

Ah, forgot: maybe the QL for that element is something which is there per default (as being inherited from base UML or so).

Hey Q
The connector being created is a stereotype I created.
Whats worse is that I have since DELETED that stereotype, but it is STILL driving me nucking futs!
How on earth can my users create a connector that no longer appears in the MDG with a quick linker that likewise no longer appears in the MDG?
I might try a re-boot of the machine in case there is some kind of bizarre caching problem

That wouldn't be necessary, but depending on what version of EA you are using, you may need to restart EA. Also check that your profile/technology isn't loaded more than once. And check that you rebuilt your technology after re-saving your profile.

Hey there
Yep, I have re-saved the profile and re-built the MDG (several times).
I also checked to make sure I am pointing to only one version of the MDG.
Weird!
Cheers :)

Is it repository dependent? Same issue with a clean EAP?
q.
-
Hey Q
I hadn't thought about trying that.
But yep, I just created a clean repository and the old quick linker still raises its ugly head >:(
Thanks

In that case: where is your MDG? Have you stored it in the EA program folder additionally to some Advanced file location from the MDG dialog?
q.
-
Yup, I place my MDGs in a folder and then point to them using the advanced option.
-
Have you cross-checked program files \Sparx Systems\EA\MDGTechnologies ?
q.
-
Hey Q
Sorry, not sure I understand.
What do you mean by cross check?
Cheers :)
-
The above named folder is also a location where EA looks for MDG files. Have you checked this folder being clean?
q.
-
Ah gotcha, yep that is clean.
Thanks :)

I'm out of advise.... You should contact Sparx support and they should be able to help you out.
