Title: Parent relations based on child element relations
Post by: Wojtas on March 11, 2015, 12:12:36 am
Hi,

I'm faced task to create high-level diagram of machines that "talk" each-other.
So, there are "node" elements that's have child "component" elements. Components are connected via different types of relations. Is there fast/simple way to create diagram that shows nodes connected together with association relation which shows that there are components on this nodes that communicate each-other?
I have idea how to create such script, but I don't want to kick open doors.
Thanks in advance for help.

Kind regards,
Wojtek

I think that is the main task of a modeler: creating elements (via the power of brain) and arrange them on diagrams (via power of hands) to please visual perception.

Check out Self maintaining diagrams in Enterprise Architect with EA-Matic (http://bellekens.com/2015/01/30/self-maintaining-diagrams-in-enterprise-architect-with-ea-matic/)
That script already does a lot of the things you need.
